TINLEY PARK, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- 16 years ago, a man walked into the Tinley Park Lane Bryant and shot 6 women--killing 5 of them.

The case remains unsolved, but police are still actively working to solve it. Rhoda McFarland, 42 made a 911 call around 10:45 a.m. on February 2, 2008 after a man disguised as a delivery person walked into the Lane Bryant where she worked saying he was robbing it before ordering McFarland, another employee and four customers into a back room where he bound them with duct tape.

The suspect was also heard on that call. Shortly after the call ended, police say the suspect shot all six women--only one survived.

Besides McFarland, Jennifer Bishop, 34, of South Bend, Indiana; Sarah Szafranski, 22, of Oak Forest; Connie Woolfolk, 37, of Flossmoor; and Carrie Hudek Chiuso, 33, of Frankfort all died.

McFarland helped investigators create a sketch of the suspect, but despite the description, thousands of leads and a $100,000 reward, the case remains unsolved.

Still, Tinley Park Police continue to investigate, and have asked for $60,000 in the upcoming village budget to be used solely on the case.

“We owe it to the victims and their families to find the person responsible for this heinous crime and finally close the book on this terrible chapter of their lives,” Tom Tilton, the village’s interim police chief, told the Daily Southtown.

A composite likeness of the suspect can be found here as well as audio recordings from the 911 call.

Tinley Park Police have a tip line for the investigation, which can be reached at 708-444-5394, and an email address, lanebryant.tipline@tinleypark.org.
