(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Mayor Lightfoot apparently favors one of three finalist proposals for a Chicago casino, according to a published report.

The Chicago Sun-Times, citing unnamed sources, reports Lightfoot prefers the Bally's Corp. bid for a casino in River West at Chicago Avenue and Halsted.

Among factors going Bally's way for the plan, according to the article, is the company's offer to pay $25 million upfront for a casino license and a willingness to sign an agreement with labor organizations.

Aldermen have opposed various plans for a Chicago casino, but the Sun-Times reports Ald. Walter Burnett, whose 27th Ward includes the site, would support the Bally's project.

The other finalists are Hard Rock, which proposes a casino across from Soldier Field and the "Rivers 78" plan for the South Loop.

An official decision could come Thursday.
