CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Lincoln Park will transform this weekend into an open-air market for the Lincoln Park Wine Fest.

For the eighth year, Jonquil Park will serve as a tasting center for wine lovers to try a dozen wines from around the world.

"There's quite a few Napa Valley and American wines. But, we have wines from Germany. We have wines from Italy. We have definitely Portugal, and quite a bit of California, as far as the domestic wines,” says Courtland Hickey with the Jonquil Park Advisory Council and Wrightwood Neighbors Association.

Hickey says many of the wines featured are rare and not something you can really find anywhere else.

"Really, it’s all about the wine and the wine tasting,” Hickey addes. “If you're a wine lover like myself, you really enjoy having a nice, long conversation with the brand ambassadors and manufacturers and really getting to taste some stuff that you know you wouldn't necessarily be exposed to otherwise.”

He says the money raised from the event will be invested back into Jonquil Park and the community to improve the space for future events.
