A former maintenance worker at a junior high school in Lisle made his first appearance in court today -- on charges that he stole students' medications.

Twenty-six year old Daniel Westerhoff was taken into custody mid-week, accused of going into the Lyle Junior High nurse's office over the weekend, unlocking a medicine cabinet and taking from it prescription Adderall that was kept there for students at the school.

DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin outlined the events in a statement announcing a charge of burglary from a school, which is a class one felony. After an investigation by the Lisle Police Department, it's alleged that in all Westerhoff took 10 to 12 pills.
