BLOOMINGDALE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Len’s Ace Hardware in Bloomingdale was bustling with shoppers Tuesday afternoon as people prepared for this week’s storm.

“The snow hasn’t started flying yet, but we’re already selling,” said manager Rob Hansen. “First thing this morning, it really started to pick up.”

With shovels, snowblowers, salt, scrapers and more, Hansen told WBBM they’re ready for whatever Mother Nature might bring.

“We’ve got everything everybody needs,” he added. “We’re fully stocked.”

The current forecast calls for 6 – 12 inches of snow arriving late Thursday through Friday.

It caused many who were holding off on buying winter supplies to have a change of heart and make that last-minute trip to the hardware store.

“I bought salt for the outside of my house to prepare for all the snow, even the [grocery] shopping — I did everything,” said Janina Gieron.

“I’m having family over on Saturday, and I just want to make sure the driveway is clear and safe for them,” added Jeff Newsted.
