CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - It felt like summer in Chicago this weekend, and Chicagoans and tourists alike made the most of it in Millennium Park.
For some, 70-degree weather meant taking a walk to the Bean or grabbing ice cream at one of the local vendors.
For Jack Cason, Logan Square native, it meant a fall photo shoot.
"I'm with a buddy, we’re taking some pictures of the foliage. We just kind of went on our own way and started taking pictures of the trees, the landscapes. It’s really beautiful,” Cason said.
He said the unpredictable weather is something he really enjoys about living in the city and that he's tried to make the most of the warm weather.
"My favorite part about being from Chicago is the different seasons we have, so there’s so many different opportunities for just creative pictures,” Cason added.
Daniella Sanchez said when she planned her trip to Chicago from Charleston, South Carolina, she had no idea the weather was going to be so nice.
"I was prepared for it to be winter, extra cold, I brought all my coats with me," Sanchez laughed.
She said Millennium Park was high on her list of places to visit after knocking off some of the basic city activities.
"We've just been kind of walking around, getting coffee, went to see the Bean specifically. It's my first time seeing it," Sanchez said.
She said the Bean did not disappoint.
"Oh my gosh, it was so cool, but it was so crowded. I didn't expect that many people to be here," she said.
But despite the crowd, Sanchez said she's been enjoying the unexpectedly warm weather in Chicago, especially since it's still cooler than the muggy heat in South Carolina.
Some visiting Chicago planned their entire trip around the weather.
Ahed Eid is from Jordan. She's visiting her brother in Chicago and said she was looking forward to seeing the city.
"I came here to visit Chicago, I heard about Chicago. it's a very nice city, and the weather, especially in this month, is also very nice," Eid said.
Eid said coming here during the warm weather was no coincidence and that she was pretty confident she was planning her trip for a good weekend.
She said it was important for her to be a Chicagoan for the weekend.
"We came here to downtown to see the activity, and we need to see the culture," said Eid.
Eid said 70-degree weather in Chicago is a nice break from higher temperatures in Jordan.
