CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Lurie Children's Hospital said it is working around the clock to restore systems paralyzed by a cyberattack two months ago.
The hospital suffered a major technical outage in January that effected operations significantly.
In an update, Lurie said it continues to make progress in restoring all systems, and that its electronic health record platform (Epic) and other key systems were reactivated. The phone system has been fully restored as well.
However, MyChart, the system that allows patients to communicate with doctors and providers online is still unavailable.
"As an academic medical center, our systems are highly complex and, as a result, the restoration process takes time," a spokesperson said in a statement.
"Working closely with our internal and external experts, we are following a careful process as we work towards full restoration of our systems, which includes verifying and testing each system before we bring them back online.
Patients and families can call 1-800-543-7362 between 7:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Saturday for assistance.
