CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — More criminal charges have been filed in connection with last year's looting.
Investigators continue to charge people in connection with the looting that broke out in downtown Chicago in the early morning hours of Aug. 10, 2020.
Tai-sean Harris, 23, is now charged with looting and burglary for allegedly kicking in the glass door of a high-end accessory store on State Street in River North and stealing merchandise.
He was arrested that night and initially charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported Harris was later identified on store surveillance video and admitted to his involvement in the looting.
An Assistant Cook County State's Attorney didn't say why charges were upgraded against Harris.
Prosecutors said he had two prior felony convictions for robbery.
