GURNEE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man from Northwest Indiana has been charged with domestic battery for allegedly attacking his girlfriend at Six Flags.
Henry L. West of East Chicago, Indiana surrendered to police last week after a warrant was issued for the 40-year-old.
Lake and McHenry County Scanner reported West was charged with misdemeanors after Gurnee Police said he punched his 26-year-old girlfriend in the head while they were in the parking lot of Six Flags during an argument over screen use.
Prosecutors said West drove off with his two children and her two children and refused to return her kids, instead taking them to his mother’s house.
The woman was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
A Lake County judge denied prosecutors’ request for pretrial detention.
