(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- The CEO of Chicago property management company who says he was threatened by 7th Ward Alderman Greg Mitchell for housing hundreds of migrants in his buildings invited migrants and the homeless to the alderman’s office Tuesday morning.
Chris Amatore sent Ubers to bring migrants and others to the 7th Ward office on 95th Street. They met in the parking lot and he gave them clean-up assignments in the ward.
He admitted he was doing it, because of the alleged threats by the alderman. Amatore filed a formal complaint with the office of the Inspector General.
He claims Mitchell threatened to terminate a Chicago Housing Authority contract that his company, Manage Chicago Inc., has and later threatened him with building code violations.
During a meeting in Mitchell's office, he said the alderman "threw papers off his desk and stood up and looked down on me and screamed at the top of his lungs. `You better watch your f----ing ass walking around my ward, because you are no longer safe."
Mitchell did not engage with Amatore when he had the migrants and others meet outside his office Tuesday.
WBBM has reached out to the Alderman for comment.
