Man arrested for trying to enter middle school, Aurora police say

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Aurora police arrested a man Wednesday who was caught trespassing at a middle school, officials say.

Police responded around 8 a.m. to Granger Middle School after school staff had confronted a stranger near an entrance.

Officers arrested 20-year-old Brandt Ward of Aurora, police said. He was charged with criminal trespass to a safe school zone and disorderly conduct.

The school was on temporary lockdown.

Ward was unarmed at the time of arrest, police said.
