BRADLEY, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Illinois State Police have made another arrest in connection with the murder last December of a Bradley police officer.
The latest to be charged is identified as Bradley resident Xavier Harris, 22 for allegedly obstructing justice and concealing or aiding a fugitive.
Darius Sullivan, the alleged shooter, and Xandria Harris, are charged with the murder of Bradley Police Sergeant Marlene Rittmanic and the wounding of officer Tyler Bailey who went to a hotel room where the two were staying because dogs were barking in their car in the parking lot.
They were arrested 125 miles away in North Manchester, Indiana after police developed information they were hiding out in a home.
Seven people have now been charged with crimes in connection with the case including five for allegedly aiding the fugitives.
"I commend the Illinois State Police for never giving up and for continuing to bring all involved to justice," Kankakee County State’s Attorney, Jim Rowe, said, in a statement.
