(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Illinois State Police did not expand on what charges Javori Robinson, 18 was facing while in custody in the Cook County Jail, but they did expand on the circumstances that led the State’s Attorney’s office Friday to now charge Robinson with a Class X Felony of Vehicular
High Jacking and Felony Unlawful Restraint.
The new charges stem from a reported carjacking on March 31 when the victim told ISP troopers near the Jane Byrne interchange that his car had been side-swiped and when he got out, someone displayed a gun, demanded his keys and drove off in his vehicle.
After a thorough and exhaustive investigation, ISP investigators said that they have identified Robinson as the suspect.
