CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Police said no tickets have been issued after a man was hit by a car as he tried to run across DuSable Lake Shore Drive late Wednesday night.
Police said that, around 11:30 p.m., a 37-year old man attempted to run across the northbound lanes of DuSable Lake Shore Drive at Diversey and was hit by a car.
The 35-year old driver, a woman who WBBM has confirmed was an off-duty Chicago police officer, tried to stop when she saw the man but could not avoid hitting him, according to police.
The man was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center in fair condition with injuries to his face. Police said the man may have just exited a rideshare vehicle before running across the road.
