MCHENRY COUNTY (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A McHenry County judge is dead after showing up to work at the Woodstock courthouse Monday morning.
Paramedics were called to the Associated Judge Michael Coppedge's chambers just before 8:30 a.m. Monday after he was found unresponsive.
He had suffered cardiac arrest and was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Coppedge graduated from the College of St. Francis in Joliet and earned a law degree from Northern Illinois University. He was admitted to the bar in 1987. He became an associate judge in 2015 and was reappointed in 2019.
