CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Metra and the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) are increasing service for Lollapalooza attendees this weekend.
Metra is adding railcars and train times to allow for frequent transportation beginning Thursday and running through Sunday.
The CTA is offering various buses connecting Grant Park to Union Station and Ogilvie Transportation Center. Those buses will have specific Lollapalooza signage.
Each night, Yellow Line trains going to Skokie will also extend service until 1 a.m.
Both Metra and the CTA have day and weekend passes. Riders have been asked not to bring alcohol on Metra rides during Lollapalooza weekend. Customers were also asked not to bring backpacks or water bottles.
The CTA reminded passengers that alcohol is always prohibited on CTA buses and trains.
