CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - As Lollapalooza cranks up the volume, one Chicago musician is going acoustic and old school a few blocks away from Grant Park.

David Nealon put down his guitar and put up posters on North Michigan Avenue this week, hoping to draw a quiet crowd for his Friday show at Venteux Chicago’s Lolla In The Loop at 224 North Michigan Avenue.

As traffic whizzed by near Michigan Avenue and Lake Street, Neylon, who is from Chicago, told WBBM that he's "playing an acoustic set, pop folk music" and was putting up flyers, saying "let's go back to paper and see if that makes a difference," in addition to his normal digital media presence.

"We're hoping to get something of a different pace than Lollapalooza, the people who couldn't get in, the people who wanted to get a little bit of an acoustic set instead of blowing their ears out at the festival itself,” Nealon said.

David then broke out into song on Michigan Avenue, singing “Fly Me To The Moon” in a capella, as the noisy world whizzed by behind him.
