CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- More migrant busses arrived in Chicago Friday.

There were nine busses this time, which is the most that have arrived in a single day. There have been about three dozen busses this week.

Mayor Brandon Johnson said the city will continue to welcome the migrants earlier this week.

Since becoming mayor, the city has opened a new temporary shelter pretty much every week. More are in the works and so are what the city is calling Base Camps. They are essentially large climate-controlled tents that can house many.

There have been questions about that plan as winter approaches. It's also not clear yet where the tents will be set up.

More than $300 million has been spent on the migrant situation so far.
