EVANSTON, Ill. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Alpha Epsilon Pi International has decided to close its Tau Delta chapter at Northwestern University over repeated health and safety violations.

A statement from the fraternity said “The chapter repeatedly violated the terms of its probationary status on campus by hosting social events at which alcohol was present.”

The violations date to 2021, when there was a large student protest outside the fraternity house, the statement said.

The protestors were chanting “no means no.”

Multiple female students reported they were drugged at the house and more recently there was an anonymous allegation of a forcible sexual assault.

The university is helping fraternity members find housing.
