VALAPARAISO, IND. (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- A 16-year-old boy from Ohio has been arrested following a series of threats involving Valparaiso High School.
This has become something of a trend in recent months, impacting schools all over the country. Threats of violence were made to Valparaiso High School three times this month with the most recent on Thursday.
“The threats, communicated by phone, have interrupted school days by panicking our students, staff, and parents," police said in a statement.
There have been lockdowns at Valpo and three other schools in the region.
“These investigations are tedious, filled with multiple layers of deception on the part of the violator, with details that take large amounts of time to analyze."
Investigators worked with the Secret Service, FBI and State Police, identifying the 16-year-old from Ohio, who they say is responsible.
