CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - PAWS Chicago is sharing a heartwarming story of a cat rescue on the North Side earlier this week.

We weren't the only ones feeling the frigid temperatures this week. Tuesday night, a cat in the freezing wind meowed out for help in an alley near Wrigley Field.

PAWS Chicago said a Good Samaritan heard the desperate calls for help and rushed the all-white cat, now appropriately named "Frosty," to the shelter, who shared video of him eagerly devouring food once arrived.

Veterinarians found an abscess on his paw and ulcerations likely caused by frostbite. He's now being taken care of at PAWS.

They said its rescue team remains on high alert for other animals like Frosty who might need some love and warmth during the cold winter months.
