(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – Authorities in west suburban Lombard say there was "no active threat" to the public as police investigated a report of shots fired at the Yorktown Center mall Friday.
"There is a police presence in the parking areas & ring road east/southeast of Yorktown Center shopping mall while police investigate a report of shots fired. Police determined that there is no active threat to the public & mall operations are continuing uninterrupted," the village government tweeted Friday afternoon.
Village officials posted an update later Friday saying police had cleared the area but did not elaborate.
