CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago police are investigating a couple of potential hate crimes that happened along Devon Avenue over the weekend in the West Ridge neighborhood on Chicago's North Side.

Police and a community organization reported Saturday that windows were broken at a couple of Jewish businesses along the 2900 block of West Devon, as well as in a synagogue several blocks away.

Then, on Sunday afternoon, according to a picture on the Facebook page of Concerned Citizens League, a swastika was spray-painted on both the FREE synagogue and Hanna Sacks High School; and a young male religious student was verbally assaulted as he crossed the street near Brisk Rabbinical College.

Chicago police said they are questioning a person of interest in Sunday's incidents.

Police were unsure if the incidents on Saturday were related to the ones on Sunday.
