Police issue alert after cars broken into in Grand Crossing

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago police are warning residents of a string of burglaries reported this month in Grand Crossing on the South Side.

In each incident, a parked car had its window broken and property inside was taken, police said in a community alert.

The thefts happened:

• At about 4:45 p.m. Jan. 2 in the 5700 block of South Lake Shore Drive;
• Between 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Jan. 2, in the 5700 block of South Columbia Drive;
• Between 11:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Jan. 4, in the 5700 block of South Lake Shore Drive;
• Three times between 10 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Jan. 9 in the 5700 block of South Lake Shore Drive.
