CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Chicago police said they are searching for the person responsible for a shooting in River North early Sunday morning, which sent eight people to the hospital — four of whom were transported in critical condition.
Among the most seriously wounded were a man who was shot in the head, a 43-year-old woman who was shot in the stomach, and a 32-year-old man who was struck throughout his body.
Police said two additional women and three other men were wounded.

The shooting followed a fight that broke out near Erie and Orleans Streets at about 2:30 a.m., officials said.
Although police markers were scattered across the street early in the investigation, hours later there was hardly a sign of the shooting, except for what appeared to be a bullet hole in a pane of glass down the block.
