(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A man who was once fired by Donald Trump, former Illinois Governor and ex-con Rod Blagojevich, is reported to be under consideration to serve as ambassador to Serbia.
It was Trump who commuted the sentence of the former governor after he served eight years in prison.
Their relationship dates back to 2010, when Blagojevich appeared on Trump’s reality TV show, “Celebrity Apprentice.”
He was then charged with corruption.
Politico is reporting he’s being considered for the ambassador position,
citing two unnamed sources.
Blagojevich was just in Serbia and met with the country’s President, according to a post on X.
His father was from Serbia, and he was co-chair of Serbians for Trump during the 2024 campaign.
