(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch for much of the Chicago area. Multiple Severe Thunderstorm Warnings were issued throughout the night.
The Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect until 11 p.m. Tuesday for McHenry, Lake, Kane, Cook, DuPage, Kendall, De Kalb, La Salle, Grundy, Will, and Kankakee counties in Illinois. This also includes Boone, Iroquois, Ford, Lee, Livingston, Ogle, and Winnebago counties.
In Indiana, Benton, Jasper, Lake, Newton, and Porter counties are also under a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 11 p.m.
