Severe weather canceled flights turned out the lights, flooded roads and generally caused a lot of trouble. The Federal Aviation Administration issued a ground stop for all flights in and out of O'Hare between 5:30- 8 pm as strong winds and hail blew through the area.
There were around 400 canceled flights at O'Hare and Midway airports with some inbound flights delayed for hours. ComEd reported tens of thousands of power outages, but in a Facebook update, said that crews are trying to restore power and "working as quickly as possible."
