(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Police in south suburban Dixmoor said they are investigating a shooting that took place early Saturday morning at Maddie’s bar and sent three people to the hospital.
Authorities said officers responded to the bar, located at the corner of South Wood and West 143rd Streets, shortly after 3:15 a.m. When officers arrived, they heard gunshots and saw several individuals fleeing the business.
Inside, Dixmoor Police Chief Lionel Smith said three people had been shot. Two of the victims were taken to University of Chicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Harvey, and the third was taken to Christ Advocate Hospital in Oak Lawn.
All three individuals were in stable condition, Smith said in a statement.
Officials said they believe they have an idea of what the suspect looks like, but the investigation is still ongoing.
