(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — What a week it was for Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese — and it won't be her last whirlwind, either.

“I went to the Met Gala, slayed the Met Gala in New York,” she said. “Came back, slayed against New York. It's what I do. I'm not one-dimensional. Women don't have to be one-dimensional. They don't have to do one thing. I think that's what's growing the game.”

Reese walked the red carpet and strutted her stuff in New York City but also refused any offers to party after; she had to drop 13 points on the Liberty the next night.  She got her hair and makeup done on the way there, studied her match-ups on the way back, and in her words, ‘made the most of [her] 24 hours.’

The hype is expected to continue this season. While Sky games might not reach ’90s Bulls levels, Reese suggested TMZ may wind up stalking the VIP entrance at Wintrust Arena.

“Everybody's gonna be courtside,” she said. “Celebrities gonna be courtside, just know. A Who's Who's gonna be courtside. I was just talking...I was at the Met Gala. Usher's gonna try to come up to a game in Vegas, and Cardi B, and...I know some people that y'all might not think I know. But I know.”

Chicago celebs Caleb Williams, Rome Odunze and Coby White all showed up for Tuesday's home preseason game against the Liberty. Proof that, as Diamond DeShields said, Reese is unique.

As for the Sky’s other first-round draft pick Kamilla Cardoso, who’s recovering from a shoulder injury, Sky coach Teresa Weatherspoon said Cardoso has the “heart of a lion.”

Earlier this week, Cardoso told the media about what life with a shoulder injury has looked like.

“I go to the gym,” she begins. “I do rehab. Then the girls have individual workouts, so I do more rehab. Then I watch practice. After practice, more rehab. So basically, just doing rehabs. Even in my room, I try to do some of the rehabs that the trainers teach me. So I feel like, I just keep doing rehabs to get better.”

All work and little play, all to beat a month-and-a-half max timetable and make her regular season WNBA debut.
