Skokie police investigating hate crime at synagogue

SKOKIE (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Police in Skokie are investigating a case of vandalism at a synagogue Sunday afternoon as a hate crime.

Skokie police said they were called to the Persian Hebrew Congregation on Main Street shortly after 3 p.m. Sunday.

Responding officers discovered a shattered front window, a broken stick, a sign that said "Freedom for Palestine" on the ground.

The Skokie Police Department has classified the incident as a hate crime.
