(WBBM NEWSRADIO) – A tricked-out promotional vehicle used by Slim Jim has been recovered in the Chicago area after the car was stolen in Los Angeles earlier this month.
The Nissan Z known as “Fast Meat” was located Friday in west suburban Hillside aboard a parked transportation trailer, according to Jon Harris, a spokesman for Chicago-based Conagra, which owns the Slim Jim brand.
The vehicle had gone missing several days ago while being moved from California to Florida for a professional wrestling video shoot. The car had been emblazoned in orange and wrapped in Slim Jim graphics, but some of that covering had been removed by the time Fast Meat was found.
Harris said the original auto theft was not some kind of publicity stunt. He noted that the Slim Jim products that had been stocked inside the vehicle were gone, likely consumed by the thieves.
“We gave them protein and nourishment,” Harris said Tuesday.
