Some frozen pizzas made in Chicago recalled

(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A frozen pizza brand based in the Chicago region is the subject of a recall.

Home Run Inn Frozen Foods is recalling 13,000 pounds of frozen meat pizza that were produced June 6. They may contain “extraneous materials,” such as metal pieces, the Food Safety and Inspection Service said.

Specifically, the Woodridge-based manufacturer is seeking the return or disposal of 33.5-oz. cartons of Deluxe Sausage Classic Pizza with “best by” date of Dec. 3, 2022. These products bear establishment number “EST. 18498-A” inside the USDA mark of inspection.

The pizzas were shipped to distributors in Illinois and further, federal officials said.
