(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — A west suburban aldermanic candidate may have won his race this week, but he’s not sure he’ll be allowed to take his seat.
Paul Lencioni beat Charles Amenta for St. Charles alderman by 135 votes.
Lencioni, however, will need the City Council’s permission to take his 3rd Ward seat. An ordinance forbids a liquor licensee from holding office.
Lencioni is president and CEO of Blue Goose Market, which sells alcohol.
Lencioni hopes new Mayor Lora Vitek and the council will allow him to be sworn in.
