CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - A 17-year-old is in custody after, Chicago Police said, he held up a Portage Park restaurant Monday night and then crashed his car.
Police said the teen held up a restaurant near Belmont and Long at about 9:30 p.m.
After an employee of the Taco Burrito King handed over cash from the register, police said a man in the restaurant who has a concealed carry license shot at the robber.
Police said the teen got into a black SUV that crashed about half a mile away and tried to run off but was arrested.
The suspect was taken to the hospital for what was initially described as a graze wound, but police later said he was not shot.
