(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Fraudsters turn up the heat as the cold weather begins, so don’t fall for any winter scams.
It’s winter scams season, so be on the lookout for suspicious offers involving winter insulation, snow removal, and furnace inspections.
Here are three tips to keep you safe:
-Never make a fast decision to pay cash upfront or sign a contract with an unknown business until you’ve had time to review the company. BBB.org is a great place to look to see if a company is legit.
-Be on high alert for anyone who contacts you unsolicited or tries to pressure you.
-Never let anyone into your home unless you reached out to them first.
