AURORA (WBBM NEWSRADIO) — Police in North Aurora are investigating a shooting that happened Tuesday evening in a grocery store parking lot.

Police are questioning three people about a shooting that left two men injured in the parking lot of a Woodman’s Food Market on Hansen Blvd.

"Upon arrival, officers found two gunshot victims in a car and the suspect had fled northbound from that area," said Aurora Police Chief David Fisher.

Aurora Police Chief David Fisher said it happened around 6:30 p.m. and no one else was injured.

"That was my first concern when I heard the call were the people walking in and out of the store, people driving by - and fortunately, where it did happen was in the parking lot, but about as far away from the store as you can get," he said.

Officers searched a nearby apartment complex where Chief Fisher said two men and a woman were found and questioned by police.

Fisher said one of the victims has life-threatening injuries, while the other man was less seriously wounded.

Police said the shootings appear to have been a targeted attack possibly connected to drugs.
