INDIANA (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Indiana State Police are investigating a fiery and fatal truck crash on I-80 near Lake Station Wednesday night.
Troopers said a Chevy was stopped in the road for some reason in the east bound lanes of I-80 near Ripley when it was hit by a semi-truck causing both vehicles to catch on fire.
Around 11 p.m., both became fully engulfed. Police said the driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene while the truck driver was not injured. A crash reconstruction team is helping in the investigation.
There is no further information to release at this time, according to police.
