(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — If you've ever dreamed of becoming a Navy SEAL, a new virtual reality experience at the Navy Pier lets you dive in.
It's Navy Week at Navy Pier, and U.S. Navy Recruiting Command is showcasing the Nimitz, a mobile, state-of the-art virtual reality experience that simulates an actual high-speed Navy SEAL mission.
The experience includes virtual reality goggles, a steering wheel, and vests to experience a high speed boat. People get a feel of how they're actually piloting a high-speed boat while extracting Navy SEALs.
“The sound was really cool. And what I thought was really neat was when you turned your head to the left or the right, it amplified, like actually, like the Doppler effect so you could hear it better.”
And the reaction from users once they were done with The Navy's Nimitz Experience was positive.
Ambassadors from the Navy and other military branches shared career opportunities that are available in the armed forces.
