(WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Chicago's inspector general says her office is looking into how efficiently city government is spending money as it responds to the continuing migrant crisis.
Deborah Witzburg said her office's investigations into possible wrongdoing are secret, but her staff often looks at government's responses to public needs in real time.
Such scrutiny is underway now. Witzburg said her monitoring how the Johnson Administration is spending money and managing the continuing flow of migrants into Chicago.
"There's a tremendous amount of public concern and a huge human-service imperative," she said.
She stressed it’s too early to reach any conclusions about how well the mayor is doing.
Witzburg is the guest on this weekend’s “At Issue,” which airs 9:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m.
