(WBBM NEWRADIO) — A North Suburban City Clerk is wishing ‘happy holidays to all’ after a judge dismisses a 15 count indictment against her.
In March of this year, Waukegan City Clerk Janet Kilkelly was named in a 15 count indictment by the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office.
She was accused of illegally providing financial credits to ineligible Waukegan businesses applying for liquor and gambling licenses. Among the charges she had faced, felony official misconduct and misapplication of funds.
A Lake County judge now dismissing all charges against her, a statement posted to a Janet Kilkelly for Waukegan City Clerk campaign social media site reads in part that she is “grateful that it’s finally over”, adding that she will be offering no further comments on the matter, closing the statement with the words “Happy Holidays To All”.
