(WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Saturday was a proud night for WBBM Newsradio.
The station was honored at the Illinois News Broadcasters Association (INBA) Fall Convention, winning several first place Crystal Mic Awards.
Each award is given by the INBA to "honor the best radio and television work serving Illinois audiences."
WBBM took home the first place Crystal Mic for Best Station in a Large Market.
WBBM reporter Nancy Harty earned two first place Crystal Mics, one for Best Reporter, the other for her Breaking News coverage of the accused Highland Park shooter changing his plea.
WBBM reporter Lisa Fielding was also recognized. Her feature on the famed Chess Records won a first place Crystal Mic for Writing.
Completing the banner night, WBBM reporter Carolina Garibay received a first place Crystal Mic for Use of Sound in several pieces.
