(WBBM NEWSRADIO) — They may have been successful, but federal authorities say a West Pullman based robbery crew’s sloppiness is what has them all in custody.

Ten men, part of a crew known as the “Perry Avenue Boys”, face federal charges that include robbery conspiracy. Two are awaiting trial on murder charges.

Investigators say starting in 2016, the men pulled off at least 15 different armored truck and ATM robberies across the south suburbs.

However, along the way, authorities say countless mistakes did them in.

After successfully evading arrests during a 2022 robbery in Lansing 23-year-old Corrie Singleton walked into an IHOP where he allegedly used the restaurant's phone to ask his mom for a ride home.

The following year, a GPS tracking device from stolen cash led police to 20-year-old Darrell Singleton and 28-year-old Devonte Davis.

The FBI says the crew also left behind fingerprints, firearms, and cell phone records, all of which linked them to the numerous robberies during which they're believed to have stolen close to $4 million.
