Woman violently attacked on West Side while sitting in parked car: Police

CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) - Chicago Police are investigating after a woman was attacked while in a car on the West Side overnight Friday.

Police said the 35-year-old woman was seated in a vehicle in a parking lot on the 300 block of South Sacramento, there's a Marathon Gas station on that block, around 1 a.m. when an unknown offender entered the vehicle and demanded that the victim drive away.

The attacker, who was armed with a knife, punched and choked the victim.

A witness intervened and struggled with the offender outside of the vehicle before the offender ran off.
