CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Members of the Writers Guild of America came out with picket signs as they continue their strike.

Members of the Chicago Federation of Labor AND SAG-AFTRA joined them by rallying at Daley Plaza outside CBS 2 studios at 22 West Washington. They're supporting the WGA writers, who went on strike on May 2, after failing to reach a deal with the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television producers in Hollywood.

Eric Chaudron is executive director of SAG-AFTRA Chicago.

"Something like this sort of brings it back to the forefront and remind us people that, you know, this stuff doesn't just happen in a vacuum, and that it's important for us to support folks that bring that creative process to the people," he said.

Some of the guild's core issues including increases in pay and curbs on the use of artificial intelligence to create scripts.
