CHICAGO (WBBM NEWSRADIO) -- Once 7 p.m. Tuesday rolls around in Illinois, the polls will close and Election Night coverage will be listen and watch, on radio and TV.
Eddie Varela, 24, will be watching even if there’s a chance we might not know at the end of the night who won the presidential race.
"Last election, I didn’t care as much. I kind of like, kind of gave it a whatever, but this year, it definitely matters a lot more to me so I wanted to make sure I’m paying attention," he said.
Khyre Mitchell doesn’t normally watch Election Night coverage, but he said this election is different.
"I’ll be watching tonight, as well. I think it’s important that we pay attention to the stuff that’s going on nowadays ‘cause everything that’s been going on is crazy," he said.
Ashley Turner would like to check out Election Night coverage, but she said it’s a toss up whether she will.
"That’s completely dependent upon my 6-month-old child," she said with a laugh.
Jemeace Johnson voted Tuesday morning, but said she will not be paying attention to coverage Tuesday night. She said she’s been fed up with political news since the summer.
"I’m actually kind of tired of the rhetoric. I’ll just read it in the news. I’ll listen to whatever coverage, but no, I’m not going to be paying much attention to it," she said.
"I’ll be watching. I just want to see what happens in the U.S.," said Jalem Holloway who said he normally doesn’t watch election night coverage. Same goes for one of his friends, Ronald Carroll.
"I just want to find out who wins and who really could make this place a better place for us ‘cause the stuff that’s been going ‘round, it’s been crazy stuff that’s been happening lately," Holloway said.
