Clayton County Sheriff Victor Hill is described in reports as acting swiftly when he fired one of his deputies seen in a viral video punching a man.

But, Attorney Shean Williams says Hill’s office has multiple complaints of bogus traffic stops,  Williams says his phone and email have been flooded with complaints after a video of his client Roderick Walker hit social media.

Roderick Walker is seen in the video being pinned and punched by deputies with the Clayton County Sheriff’s Department. His lawyer says that Walker was riding in a vehicle, on Friday September 11, when it was stopped by officers claiming there was a broken tail light. Williams adds that when the officers asked Walker for identification, he told them that he didn’t have it, and questioned why they needed it.  That’s when Williams says an officer became angered and the altercation with Walker began.

Williams says that not only did his client suffer physical abuse, but he also suffered emotionally. Walker, according to Williams, “bleeds from his ears” since the beating.

Criminal charges have not been filed against the deputies.

Clayton County District Attorney Tasha Mosley said this week that her office would “not rush to judgement, rather, we will be fair and thorough.” She asked anyone with knowledge or additional video in the case to communicate with her office at 770-477-3450.

Walker was granted bond by Clayton County, but “because of this incident” Williams says Walker now faces probation issues in Fulton County and remains locked up.  Reports indicate the warrant out of Fulton County includes a probation violation on a first-degree child cruelty charge out of Hapeville, Georgia.
