A great big muscle…painted silver
Well, of course there’s way more to Mercedes AMG GLC 63 S Sedan than that…way more, in fact…but there’s just something about the sedan’s somewhat rounded and hunkered-down posture that just exudes strength.
And that’s not an illusion.
503 HP from a hand-crafted 4.0 liter twin-turbo V-8. Zero to 60 in under four seconds. And suspension and tires that almost make you feel that there’s no reason to even bother using those pizza-sized discs on the carbon / ceramic braking system. You feel like you could just steer through it.
But hey…go ahead and use the brakes --
And use the “toys”, too. This is a Mercedes, after all, and you’re not going to come up short on an almost infinite number of ways to customize your ride.
You can dial-in different suspension settings and different shift points for that 9-speed automatic, and more. Choices range from settings for slippery conditions, Comfort, Sport, and Sport-Plus. And if “Sport-Plus” is not enough, there’s even a “Race” setting. Yes…the 63 S is the king of the GLC line.
And as such, your window sticker will start around 75K…and as you keep checking off on the options and packages, your investment can come close to six figures. But after you’re finished, you’re not going to find much…if anything…missing.
Now if it’s the rather timeless lines of Mercedes’ C Class that appeal to you, you can put one in your garage for something in the $40’s. And if you don’t mind going 0 – 60 just a second or so slower, the AMG C’s start in the mid to high $50’s with a twin-turbo six.
But if you like being “King of the Hill”, the AMG 60 S is calling your name.
