What Took You So Long, Nissan?

Yes…if you expected the ’25 Murano to resemble the ’24, guess again.

Today’s Murano is still has two-rows and seats five, but that’s where the similarity ends.   Your ’25 Murano is dressed in fastback styling that’s similar to many of your other high-end European and Japanese SUV’s.   Most folks who saw it said “What is it?  I like it”.

But Whoops!  Did I just say “other high end vehicles”?  Yes…pardon the slip of the keyboard, but just like so many of Nissan’s other vehicles, it’s hard to distinguish their top-of-the-line models from those from premium brands costing thousands more.

That said, today’s Muranos start in the low $40’s…with even their base SV bringing 20” black alloys, dual 12.3” screens, imitation leather, and Nissan’s ProPILOT 1.1.  Regardless which model you prefer, you’ll have a 241 HP 2.0 turbo four and a nine-speed auto that’ll get you up and runnin’ to 60 in a hair over 7 seconds.  If you want AWD, it’s just a grand more.

Another 6K will still have you under 50 thousand and will get you most of the creature comforts that you expect in a luxury ride, like 10-speaker Bose audio, a panoramic moonroof, heated steering, around-view vision, and real-time traffic.

From there it’s just another few thousand to climb up to Infiniti-level luxury in your Murano,   Our under 55 thousand AWD Platinum model got us 21” alloys, quilted Semi-Aniline ventilated and massaging leather seating, ambient lighting, puddle lights, Google maps with real-time Traffic, and rain-detecting wipers.  Again...features that you’ll find on most of today’s luxury vehicles.

When you’re ready to go, Muranos will run just fine on regular gas, and are rated at 21 MPG city and 27 Highway.  We averaged around 23 in mostly in-town driving.  And as for that 5-passenger rating, the Murano is a roomy ride.  Those 5 folks shouldn’t feel cramped and there’s a good 32.9 cu ft of luggage space for everyone’s gear back behind the rear seat.
