And just who of us doesn't want it all for less? I know I sure do.
So if that's you, too…and you're looking for a rugged and roomy three-row SUV, you might want to give Nissan's all-new Pathfinder a good look.
Let's start with the "all new" part. While "all new' is often overused, Nissan's '22 Pathfinder is truly all-new. This 7 or 8-seater now comes with a more truck-like appearance…and those squared-off lines also bring you more room inside for people and cargo.
The powertrain is largely new, too…with a 284 3.5 liter V-6 providing the "go" with a new 9-speed auto. That's enough power to tow 6,000 lbs, and get you 20 / 25 city / highway MPGs. Figure one more MPG if you don't have Nissan's new Intelligent Choice 4WD.
But you might want that 4WD system, as it has settings for just about anything you might encounter including 7 different types of terrain.
And what about that "all for less" that I mentioned? Well, while Nissan's new '22 Pathfinder starts under 35K…and offers significant value for the price…it's the top of the line Limited version that'll make you stop and ask yourself "Hey…do I really want to pay another ten thousand for a luxury nameplate…or does the '22 Pathfinder actually have everything that I need and want?"
Quilted heated and ventilated semi-aniline leather…heated second row captain's chairs, heated steering, 20" alloys, a panoramic moonroof, tri-zone heat and air, two USB ports for every row plus a 120 v outlet in the second row, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlamps, rear sunshades, a hands-free rear liftgate…you get the idea, right?
But there's more. Nissan has a new two-move tilt and slide second row that allows easy access to that third row. And while you can certainly plug in your smart phone, you might like Nissan's Door-to-Door Nav…complete with building graphics.
Then there's Nissan's "Safety Shield 360", which not only alerts you to danger, but steps in and actually makes steering and braking corrections for you if necessary.
And Nissan's Pro PILOT doesn't quite offer hands-free driving, but I sure wish every other vehicle on the road had it. Why? Well…maybe you have better drivers or wider roads where you live, but on my average commute drivers routinely wander a foot or so in my lane. Pro PILOT keeps your vehicle centered in the middle of your lane. Again…some of these other guys on the road with me sure need this!
So…our test 2022 Pathfinder Limited with everything that I mentioned costs less than 50 thousand. Add running boards, special paint and lighting and you're still under 52 thousand.
Have you got everything that you could possibly need or want here…or do you feel like you need to pay another 10K for a luxury logo?
Your call.
